 Al-Alaq sets the date for the announcement of the final results of the general population and housing census

UNFPA adviser Mehdi Al-Alak announced on Wednesday the scheduled date for completing the detailed census data, while the date of the announcement of the final results of the census.

Al-Alak said, in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by “Economy News”, that “the preliminary results of the general population and housing census were announced 48 hours after the end of the census,” noting that “data collection has not been completed yet.”

He added that “the current December 14 is the scheduled date for completing the detailed data on individuals and families,” pointing out that “after this stage, the detailed coding processes for professions and activities will begin; as some fields cannot be sent directly and need some kind of coding, especially with regard to the profession and activity.”

He continued, “What is left for the two counters is only three days to complete the rest of the work,” pointing out that “a number of governorates have completed the second phase completely by one hundred percent.”

He expected the final results of the census to be announced in February, noting that “the census plan includes all areas, including nomads, and therefore the data has been almost completely completed.”

He pointed out that “enhancing the development path and determining investment allocations is linked to the percentage of the population in each governorate in the first place and the percentage of disadvantagedness,” pointing out that “the population ratio index will depend heavily on the percentages that will be shown by the general population census in its final results.”
