Summer can be rough on the feet. The
combination of hot weather, sun exposure, and walking in sandals or barefoot dries
the skin out and hardens it. During this time most women tend to visit the nail
salon more frequently, but that is not enough to keep the feet happy and looking
good. A daily foot skin-care regimen is necessary year round, but summer calls
for extra attention and moisture. Using body cream or hand cream to treat the
foot is helpful, but it is worth investing in a good foot cream that is
designed to address the specific needs of this body part. The following are my
recommendations of foot creams.
AHAVA offers two kinds of
mineral foot cream. WATER is for daily maintenance and MUD is a more intense
treatment for cracked skin that needs healing. Both are very moisturizing and
gently scented.
I first learned about this cream
in a local spa. It used to be hard to find this cream in the US, but I’m happy
to see that now Nordstrom carries it. This is a thick, and yet not at all
greasy or oily, cream. It absorbs quickly in the skin and leaves it fresh,
soft, and nourished.
This cream is very rich and
nourishing. It is designed not only for the foot area, but for the entire leg,
especially tired legs. This cream has a strong scent of essential oils that can
be overpowering, because of that I recommend using it only at night.
This cream contains tea tree oil,
which is known for its antibacterial and antifungal qualities. Unlike the pungent
scent of tea tree oil, this cream has a mild refreshing scent. It is very light
and absorbed easily in the skin. This is a great day foot cream.
