Take an old American comfort food
and spice it up a bit. If you don’t want it spicy, just omit the habanero sauce
from the recipe. If you want it to be spicier, add more of the habanero sauce.
This is a great recipe to make for your self and your family, or to bring to a
pot lock. It can be served warm or cold.
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Baking time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
1 lb/500gr ground beef
¼ cup arrowroot powder
1 egg
½ large onion
1⁄3 cup parsley
1 tbsp minced garlic/3 garlic cloves
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp liquid aminos
1 tsp habanero sauce (optional)
½ tsp cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper
3 hard boiled eggs – peeled
Topping
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp liquid aminos
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp habanero sauce (optional)
Salt and pepper
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350F/180C
In a food processor grind onion, parsley and garlic.
Mix all meatloaf ingredients together.
Place parchment paper in an English cake pan – it will make
it easier to pull out the meatloaf later.
Pad the bottom of the pan with half of the meat mixture.
Place eggs in the center of the pan.
Cover eggs with the rest of the meat mixture.
Topping
Mix all ingredients together.
Spread with the back of a
teaspoon until you cover the entire top of the meatloaf.
Bake for 1 hour.
Let cool for 10 minutes before pulling loaf out of the pan.
