We are grateful for Xu and Xu’s thoughtful comments1 on our article, "Podocyte Density as a Predictor of Long-Term Kidney Outcome in Obesity-Related Glomerulopathy.”2 Their insights into the Cox proportional hazards model, specifically regarding interval censoring and the proportional hazard assumption (PHA), are appreciated. Although the Cox model is widely used for kidney outcomes based on estimated glomerular filtration rate measurements, we recognize the concerns raised.
